What to expect from Meteor's rebrand to eir

Tuesday 25 July 2017

eir Mobile Meteor

This morning, it was announced that Meteor will officially rebrand to eir from September.

What does this mean for Meteor customers?

Meteor customers will become eir customers but it’s only the brand name that will change. There will be no changes to contracts and mobile plans. Meteor customers have already been enjoying 96% 4G population coverage across Ireland on the eir network and will continue to do so. Customers will be notified about rebrand via an eDM or text message.

eir’s CEO Richard Moat is confident about the rebrand:

“Meteor customers may not have realised that they are part of a much bigger network, and they should be reassured that they can now take full advantage of all of the possibilities that come from being an eir customer.”

Where do I get help if I have questions?

As a Meteor customer, you can go to both eir and Meteor stores for help. During the rebrand Meteor stores will become eir stores, which will offer the same support.

You can also still call the same Meteor support numbers or there’s a handy FAQ online here.

eir benefits

  • eir WiFi calling: Only available on the eir network in Ireland, WiFi calling will continue to be available to eir Mobile and former Meteor customers.
  • eir Sport app: The eir Sport app lets you access eir Sport for free and is available with certain eir Mobile plans.
  • 30-day network satisfaction guarantee: If you’re unhappy with the service, you can leave your contract within 30 days.
